Meeting date February 4, 2014
Meeting was called to order by President Eric Hallen. Secretary’s report was read and approved. Treasurer’s report was read and approved.
Greg reported that the track groomers are getting around and the council may buy another track unit. There is additional brushing that needs to be done on the trails. Various trails were mentioned. We also need new pole saws.
Youth Club Report:
Central Bank donated an undisclosed amount of money to the youth club for the Riverbuck’s program for the month of January. The youth club did brushing on February 1st. The youth club is selling AWSC raffle tickets as a fund raiser. The youth club has decided to adopt the old shelter on the Dresser to Wandroos trail. They will be starting the repairs and renovation soon.
The solar light has been installed at the shelter. We need more wood at the shelter.
We purchased the tent from Raska’s for the fair.
Kevin McNutt has completed the GPS’ing of the trails, he just needs to complete the paperwork for the AWSC.
Club apparel is available at Sports & More in Amery.
Overnighter is scheduled for February 14th, ride to Danbury stay overnight at the Hole in the Wall Casino and ride back on Saturday. Meet at Trap Rock at 8:30 a.m.
We had about 20 members go on the safari to Lakewoods, it was a good time with the exception of Tom Hinz having a mishap and breaking his leg. We wish Tom a speedy recovery.
We set March 8th for additional brushing on the trails. Meet at Trap Rock in at 9:00 a.m.
The club ride and shelter party has been re-scheduled to Saturday March 1st. There will be a ride in the morning meet at the shelter at 8:30 and then back to the shelter at 12:30, the club will provide hot dogs and hot chocolate. From the shelter we will do a club ride to Al Mielke’s benefit at Potting’s which starts at 3:00 p.m. Eric is looking for volunteers to help him with the party.
Suggestion was made to change the meeting time from 7:30 to 7:00 p.m. This will be tabled until fall when we need to get new post cards made.
We discussed the need for additional pole saws. After numerous motions a motion was made and carried to purchase two new pole saws and get our current one refurbished. Doug Kromrey will take care of this.
Motion was made and carried to donate $100.00 to Al Mielke’s benefit.
Ricky McGuiggan gave a big thank you to all of our groomer drivers.
We presented Tammy and Jerry of U.W. Wandroos a plaque to thank them for all they do for our club.
Landowner’s dinner is scheduled for Saturday April 12, 2014 at Potting’s.
We need volunteers on our committees. We have the following committees:
Fair Committee, Landowner’s Dinner committee, Membership committee, Trip committee, nominating committee and social committee (plan club appreciation party and club ride/cook out at shelter). Contact any officer if you are interested in participating on these committee’s
