Meeting date November 5, 2013
Meeting was called to order by President Eric Hallen. Secretary’s report was read and approved. Treasurer’s report was read and approved, still need the bill from Raska for the rental of the tents from the fair.
Council Report:
Groomer Driver refresher training is scheduled for December 7th, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the groomer shed in Balsam Lake. Council would like all groomer drivers to attend. Next council meeting there will be a brusher domo, this will be held on November 14, 2013 starts at 2:30 p.m. at the groomer shed prior to the council meeting. The Niedermier bridge repairs have been approved by the council. Boards will be repaired this year, next year the bridge will be re-decked. Andrew and Doug went to the state workshop, it was reported that club memberships are down as well as commercial AWSC memberships. DNR is trying to open a late season deer hunt from December 24 to January 4. If this passes we would not be able to open trails until after the hunt. Secretary to forward the link to the DNR survey for members to oppose this hunt. AWSC death and dismemberment benefit has risen from $2500.00 to $3000.00 per person. Doug is also on a snowmobile safety and education committee. They are looking at additional safety checks when doing the snowmobile safety training.
Youth Club Report:
The youth club will take care of the picnic tables stained. New Miss Snowflake was crowned, pictures are on Facebook page under friends of the AWSC. Youth club is selling AWSC raffle tickets for their fundraiser.
Trail Bosses:
Gordy thanked everyone for the help cutting wood at the shelter. November 16th is trail signing day. Doug and Sheri will get the notification cards out to the landowners. Gordy and Rick will get needed supplies for the repairs on the Niedermier/Swanson bridge. Dick Hoppe brought the new signs for the bridge to the meeting. They look great. Rick thanked the guys who helped with trail brushing and trimming trees on November 2nd. Bruce Johnson is waiting for the easements back from three landowners on the Dresser to Wandroos trail. There shouldn’t be a problem. Bruce no longer wants to be the trail boss on this trail. There was talk about splitting this area into two trail bosses. If you know of any landowners signs that need to be replaced please let Gordy know so we can get them ordered.

New Business:
2014 budget was passed around and discussed. We are going to do a scholarship at OHS for the 2014 graduating class. Budget was approved. Suzy Wente and Julie McGuiggan will be the scholarship committee. Sheri noted that there needs to be some corrections to our by-laws. Motion was made and changes approved. Eric Hallen checked with Wandroo’s Bar & Grill they are having their hunting party on Thursday November 21st at 6:00 p.m. All proceeds are donated to our club and the Amery club. We have raffle tickets to sell to help support this event. If you would like tickets to sell contact Eric Hallen at 715-417-1196, you will need to turn them back into Eric by November 20th either sold or unsold. We would also like members to try to attend to offer our help at this event.
