Meeting date March 4, 2014
Meeting was called to order by President Eric Hallen. Secretary’s report was read and approved. Treasurer’s report was read and approved.
Treasurer reported that the pole saws were purchased. We paid $570.00 for one from Rick LeRoux and $662.48 at Bill’s Ace Hardware which included chains and oil.
Council Report:
Greg reported that the groomer driver’s dinner will be held April 24th at Crickets. Greg also noted the difficulties the groomer drivers have had this year with all the snow and thanked them for their work and gave a round of applause. We need to pay attention where additional brushing needs to be done so it can be taken care of when we take down signs. Also note where there is excessive drifting to make minor changes of the trails next year. Doug reported that the AWSC convention is the last week-end in March. Doug plans on attending, if you are interested you can contact Doug or all the information is on the AWSC website.
Youth Club Report:
Central Bank donated approximately $300.00 to the youth club from the Riverbuck’s program for the month of January. The AWSC is doing a silent auction benefit to support the youth club, the Polk County Youth Club will be looking for donations to put together a gift basket for the silent auction.
Trail Bosses:
The pole saws are with Doug, Gordy and Roger along with sign-up sheets if you would like to use one. Additional brushing needs to be done by the gravel pit in Dresser due to the last snow fall. We will set a date for brushing at the next meeting.
Old Business:
Jason Raska will provide us a price for the tent. It was wrongly reported that we have not purchased it, we had only paid the rental of it from the fair last year. We will probably purchase the tent and the Rod & Gun club will rent from us.
Club apparel is available at Sports & More in Amery.
Overnighter to Danbury was a success, we had about 15 members go.
Shelter ride and Al’s benefit was well attended despite the extreme cold weather.
New Business:
The scholarship is all set up for applicants this year. If you know a graduation senior please encourage them to apply for the Osceola Valley Sno-Goers $500.00 scholarship.
AWSC membership cards are in and were passed around. Sheri Hoiby has the cards.
Landowner’s dinner is planned for April 12, 2014 at Potting’s. The club will provide chicken, potatoes, gravy and biscuits from KFC. Members are asked to bring a dish to pass.
Trail closing will be scheduled for April, date to be determined.
We need volunteers on our committees. We have the following committees:
Fair Committee, Landowner’s Dinner committee, Membership committee, Trip committee, nominating committee and social committee (plan club appreciation party and club ride/cook out at shelter). Contact any officer if you are interested in participating on these committee’s
Next meeting will be held on Tuesday April 1, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. at Sue’s Bar & Grill.
