Meeting date January 3, 2012
Meeting was called to order by President Rick McGuiggan. Secretary’s report was read and approved. Treasurer’s report was read and approved. Nate reported that Cascade Currency is no longer available, so we purchased $20.00 Visa gift cards for our landowners for Christmas gifts.
Council Report:
Groomer Rodeo will be held January 14, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the groomer shed. It will be re-scheduled if there is no snow. Reminder to the county clubs to continue to promote our club, make sure we contact our local news papers if we have scheduled activities or if donations are made. Reminder to continue to purchase our own insurance and to turn the insurance bill into the council for reimbursement. The council will continue to research the option to purchase insurance for the county. The vintage snowmobile show did not take place in Frederic as scheduled. Doug spoke with Jeremy of the Polk County parks department to look into updates on the approach to the bridge by Horse Creek.
Trail Bosses:
Dick Couch completed the additional brushing that was needed. A new culvert was installed on Mike Krenz’s land. Rybek donated the culvert and Doug Kromrey did the work and installation. A motion was made and carried to reimburse Doug for fuel. Thank you Rybek and Doug!!
Old business:
Special thank you to Lois G. for the new PA system that was used at the meeting tonight.
Roxy Couch brought samples from the Treadmill on clothing and hats with the club logo.

Trip committee:
Eric Hallen reported that if we are able to go on the overnighter to Danbury on Friday January 13, 2012 groups will be meeting at the Trap Rock Inn for 9:00 a.m. departure and 5:00 p.m. departure. If you want to go or if you need to cancel the number for the Danbury Lodge is 715-656-3453
Due to lack of snow the trip committee is considering changing the location of the safari ride scheduled for January 27th- 28th from Black River Falls. Scott Carlson and Gordy Jones will check into other options.
Our club Funday ride is scheduled for Saturday February 11, 2012 we will do the trail dedications and cookout at the shelter snow or no snow. We will discuss further at the February meeting.
New Business:
We received a flyer from the JOELmobilers Snowmobile Club that they are hosting a Chili Feed on February 11, 2012 from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Charlie’s Place in Clayton. All you can eat Chili will all the sides. Free will donation, suggested $3.00 per person. Proceeds will be used for landowners gifts. Raffle tickets will also be sold.
Osceola Chamber of Commerce contacted Roger Peterson and they would like us to participate in the winter parade that is scheduled for February 18th at 7:00 p.m. Nate Gustafson offered drive a float for the club in the parade but would like help. Please contact Nate if you want to participate.
Roxy checked with the Osceola Sun and we can submit our events such as meetings and outings in the community event section at no cost. Roxy is going to check on length of articles that will be accepted.
Frank Sommerfeldt made new trail signs for Sue’s Bar & Grill and Ken’s Keyboard. Thanks Frank!!
Frank checked into upgrading our website and what options were available and rates. Motion was made and carried to pursue updating our website at a cost of $47.00 for the domain name osceolavalleysnogoers.com. Frank confirmed that we did get this for a domain name and he will continue to add information to our website.
We welcomed two new members this month, Stacey Willis and Mercy Weber. Thanks for joining!!
UW Wanderoos has offered to let us hold a meat raffle for a fund raiser if we would like to. This will be considered at a future meeting.
