Meeting Minutes – November, 2025

*Meeting called to order on 11/4/25, 7:02pm by Spencer at Ken’s Keyboard.

Secretary’s report:  

Treasurer’s report: 

  • BOD approved the proposed budget.
  • Memberships continue to come in.  Membership went up to $30/family on 11/1/25, early payments were $20/family. 58 paid before Nov 1, 22 land owners
  • Checking and rainy-day accounts remain healthy  
  • Fun run Gold sponsor and 14 Silver sponsors are set.

Old Business:

  • Snowmobile Safety Class October 20th, 21st, and 23 at the Osceola OIS, fee covered by the OVSG. Did someone cover the fees?
  • Brush cleared needed to Ward’s, but needs pole saw work
  • Nate Gustafson will be leading trail 12 from Dresser to the KAOS Shelter and Karter McNutt will be leading trail 43 from Dresser to the Dalles House

New Business: 

  • Send in Fun Run to AWSC magazine

Council Report:

  • Fall workshop 24-26
  • Groomer Rodeo Dec 6th
  • 400 miles of Polk County trails, 90% on private land

KAOS Youth Club: 

  • Trail signs put up on Nov 1st
  • Next meeting is next week.  11/11

Committee Reports:  

Fair Revenue Committee:

  • Chair:  Cyndi Sommerfeldt (report by Frank)
  • Updates:
    • Some extra meat available

Fun Run Revenue Committee:

  • Chair:  Laurel Feldt
  • Updates:
    • The fun run will start February 1 and run through February 21.
    • There will be more ‘stops’ to include more stops in Osceola.
    • Ken’s Keyboard will be our gold sponsor and final location on 2/21.
    • Working on Bronze level sponsors

Landowner Appreciation Committee:

  • Chair:  Donna Berg
  • Updates:

Scholarship / Donation Committee:

  • Chair:  Angel Olson
  • Updates:
    • Busch Lite Challenge is 2/6/26 ?

Social Committee:

  • Chair:  Spencer Feldt / Eric Hallen
  • Updates:
    • Membership appreciation to be held 12/6 starting at 3pm at Eric’s.  This will include the McNutt appreciation event.  Kaos club will be included in this appreciation due to the McNutts many years of service to this club as well. 
    • Solon Springs for the Safari,January 22-24 at the St Croix Inn. Club activity in the basement one night.

Social Media Committee:

  • Chair:  Eric Hallen / Frank Sommerfeldt
  • Updates:
    • Our on line membership form and all related links for payments provider is no longer providing this service.  Frank will be looking into other options including working with Angel to replicate the ATV Club form/supplier.  This may require some cost.  But it is working for now.

Trail Committee:

  • Chair:  Doug Kromrey  
  • Updates:
    • Trail reroute planned for Trail 30 near the Alden Fire Station
    • Doug’s assistant will be going through the land owner list. Motion by Scott Carlson, second by Rhett Larson to reimburse her for time spent on the list. Cards/letter will be sent out any land owners that we can not get emails.
    • Trail bosses work with your land owners

Finance Committee:

  • Chair:  Frank Sommerfeldt
  • Updates:

Next Meeting: December 2nd, 2025 at Freindly Bar in Star Prairie at 7:00pm.

  1. This winter’s club safari trip is booked for Jan 22,23 and 24 in Solon Springs. You can make reservations at the St. Croix Inn. 715 378 4444. 11390 South 5th Street East. We have reserved the basement of the motel on Jan 23rd Friday night for fellowship and laughter. Supper will be provided by the club that night. Hope you all can make it.
